You do me, I’ll do you

Hi Everyone,

This Tuesday is “You do me, I’ll do you”.
We will be photographing each other, taking photos! We will probably also have a go at some more advanced light trail stuff.
Normal place, normal time, bring your cameras, tripods, gear and wrap up warm!

Also, we are looking to build a small bank of model contacts to help out in the up and coming portraiture sessions. If any one knows of anyone that may be interested please give them the LUPS email address (lups.mail@gmail.com) and please urge them to get in contact.

Talking Travel

Hey guys!!!

This Tuesday there will be a talk on travel photography, so come along if you wanna learn more!!!!!

Also we are going to be having an end of term social in week 10 on Friday 12th December. We will be meeting at pizzeretta and then going for some drinks around campus and maybe town.

Week5
Tuesday 4th (this tues) We are going to do a little more work on lighttrails as its the fireworks on Saturday! We are guna teach you how to get the best photos of fireworks.

Saturday 8th. Lancaster Fireworks! Pretty much everyone’s favourite event of the year. We will be getting a bus from campus at around 8pm.

Week6
There will be no Tuesday meeting, instead we are going to the Yorkshire house on Friday 14th to photography a gig and have a drink or three. Playing are EASTFIELD + TRACY CURTIS + DJ GEZ entry is going to be no more than £3, if it is the soc will absorb the cost.

Week7
Again no tuesday meeting we are going a trip to do some street and urban photography. Wednesday 19th Manchester Trip we will be getting the train in the afternoon and then going to walk around and do a demo on street photography and urban environment both new and old. There is a big xmas market as well to get some shopping done. Anyone thats not been to manchester before should go. Its an awesome city, some awesome photography and there now a krispykreme doughnut shop! Cost is about £15 on a train without a railcard. Totally worth it!

Rat Race

Hello Photographers!

This coming tuesday, we will be holding a photochase. On your own, in pairs or in threes you will have to race against all the other photographers to get a photo of each thing on a list. There will be a prize.

You will need a camera, so if you need to borrow one from photosoc then please email us before Tuesday.
Meeting as usual, at 6 in Fylde SCR.

Hey guys,

This tuesday we will be showing you all how to get the most from your photos with a quick photoshop tutorial.

To get the most from this tutorial you should bring your laptop loaded with a copy of photoshop (it doesn’t really matter which version), failing this a pen and paper to make notes will do.

You can download a free 30 day trial of photoshop CS3 from
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/index.html

note there are two versions, we will not be using any of the features from the extended version but you can still download it if you wish.

To download the free trial you must first register an adobe account, then log in with this account and follow the instructions to install photoshop.
The free trial will expire after 30 days but theres nothing stopping you uninstalling it then downloading it again… every 30 days…

The tutorial will cover several different aspects of photoshop from retouching photos to creating new composite photos, photoshoppers of all abilities will be catered for.
